Restaurant Host/hostess

The Restaurant Host/Hostess plays a vital role as part of the front-of-house team, ensuring guests receive a warm welcome and efficient service throughout their dining experience. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, this position involves managing reservations, coordinating seating, and assisting customers to create a smooth and enjoyable atmosphere. The role offers flexible evening and weekend shifts, with opportunities for growth through customer service training and cross-training in other front-of-house roles.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests upon arrival
• Manage reservations using reservation software
• Coordinate seating to optimize table turnover
• Assist customers with inquiries and special requests
• Maintain and manage the waiting list effectively
• Communicate clearly with guests and team members
• Ensure sanitation and cleanliness standards are met
• Resolve guest issues promptly and professionally

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in customer service
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Conflict resolution and teamwork capabilities
• Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software
