Key Responsibilities
- Coating Application: Apply high-performance industrial paints, epoxies, urethanes, and chemical-resistant linings to steel tanks, trailers, and heavy equipment using airless and conventional spray systems.
- Surface Preparation: Perform precision surface prep, including grinding, cleaning, and masking to ensure optimal coating adhesion.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control checks using measuring tools to verify ambient conditions, dew point, and wet/dry film thickness per job specifications.
- Equipment Maintenance: Set up, clean, and maintain spray pumps, fluid lines, pressure pots, and spray guns to keep production running smoothly.
- Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts and shop equipment to maneuver raw materials and finished products.
- Safety & Compliance: Strictly follow OSHA guidelines and safety protocols, consistently using proper respiratory protection and PPE.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in painting, auto body repair, commercial painting, manufacturing, heavy construction, or a related trade.
- Technical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of paint mixing ratios, fluid pressures, air compressors, and hand/power tools.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, handle heavy spray hoses, stand for extended periods, and comfortably work in confined spaces or wear air-supplied respirators.
- Safety First: Strong commitment to safety regulations and proper PPE use.
- Basic Requirements: Must be 18+ years old, authorized to work in the U.S., hold a High School Diploma or GED, and pass background and drug screenings.
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)
- Prior experience with airless spray pumps or conventional industrial spray coating systems.
- Familiarity with abrasive blasting or industrial surface preparation standards.
- Forklift certification or prior shop equipment maintenance experience.
