Golden Chick General Manager (GM) Job Description

The General Manager is responsible for leading all restaurant operations and ensuring the location runs efficiently, profitably, and according to company standards. This role oversees team performance, guest satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, staffing, and financial results. The General Manager leads by example, builds a strong team culture, and drives operational excellence every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all daily restaurant operations
• Hire, train, coach, and develop team members and managers
• Create schedules based on sales projections and labor goals
• Monitor payroll, labor costs, food costs, and controllable expenses
• Ensure excellent guest service and resolve customer concerns professionally
• Maintain food quality, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Ensure speed of service and operational efficiency
• Manage inventory, ordering, truck deliveries, and product levels
• Review sales reports, KPIs, and performance metrics
• Lead local store marketing and community outreach efforts
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Maintain restaurant appearance, equipment, and overall cleanliness
• Build a positive, accountable, high performance team culture

Requirements

• Previous restaurant management experience required
• Multi unit or high volume management experience preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable
• Knowledge of scheduling, labor management, and cost controls
• Strong customer service and problem solving skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Reliable transportation
• Basic computer skills and ability to use POS, scheduling, and reporting systems
