Databricks Architect

The Databricks Architect plays a critical role in designing and implementing scalable data architecture solutions within small teams, primarily for government projects. This position balances leading architecture and design efforts with hands-on implementation to optimize data platforms and ensure robust data governance. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the role focuses on integrating cloud technologies and leveraging Databricks and Spark for high-performance data processing, all without travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data architecture solutions
• Integrate cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP into data workflows
• Develop and optimize ETL processes for efficient data transformation
• Enhance system performance through proactive tuning and troubleshooting
• Lead solution design initiatives aligned with project and governance standards
• Manage data governance and ensure compliance with policies
• Oversee Databricks platform management and optimization
• Collaborate closely within a small team (1-3) for project success
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the team

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Expertise with Databricks and Apache Spark
• Proficient in cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong skills in data modeling and ETL process design
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and Python
• Experience with Big Data technologies
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
