Job Description
Shift: Day- 5:00am- 1:30pm
Swing - 1:30pm - 10:00pm
About the job:
The Paint Prep role performs advanced paint preparation to achieve Class A, B, or C cosmetic
finishes while ensuring parts meet company and customer specifications.
We’re looking for someone who:
%CF; Has a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred)
%CF; Has working knowledge of paint prep setup and processes
%CF; Can problem-solve independently on occasion and suggest defect-prevention measures
%CF; Is able to set up and operate multiple processes or machines within the department
%CF; Understands oscillation types and grit ratings
%CF; Can read, understand, and follow detailed paint process instructions (DPPI) and system
comments
%CF; Has advanced grinding and sanding skills
%CF; Is flexible and willing to work in other areas as needed
%CF; Uses hand tools such as sanders and grinders confidently
%CF; Always follows PPE requirements and prioritizes safety
What you’ll do:
%CF; Perform all Paint Prep 1 duties and responsibilities
%CF; Prep and clean parts according to company, customer, and company standards to ensure
proper paint adhesion
%CF; Follow written masking instructions precisely
%CF; Execute advanced paint prep techniques, including concealing hardware with bondo to
achieve Class A cosmetics
%CF; Collaborate with Engineering to develop optimal masking processes for new products
%CF; Identify and help prevent cosmetic defects before they occur
%CF; Train and support other operations on process improvements
%CF; Maintain safe work practices and a clean work environment
