POSITION SUMMARY:
The Painter is required to paint full-service bodies, Flatbeds, Van interiors, parts, retros and bed liners with a scheduled time and Quality Specifications.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities of skilled and unskilled painters differ as per their expertise levels. In general, the duties and responsibilities of a painter are:
- Work and adhere to all safety policies within the work area and throughout the company.
- Properly and safely operate required tools both power/non-power.
- Understand and comprehend measurements and have the ability to apply based on instruction.
- Fully understand quality policies and have minimum or zero defects per unit.
- Ability to read and or interpret work orders and apply to task at hand.
- Team member actively participates and supports 5S.
- Perform task within a scheduled time..
- Flex within functional areas as needed.
- Work required schedule including overtime.
- Assist with on the job training of team members.
- Work with little or no supervision.
- Meet physical requirements which include lifting up to 60lbs, standing for long periods, bending, stooping, reaching and squatting.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Specific Job Functions:
· Ability to paint the following within a scheduled time and Quality Specifications:
· Full bodies.
· Any style of full bodies, flatbeds, van interiors.
Proven knowledge and experience in operating:
· Mixer/Shaker operating and safety training
· Paint Gun operating and safety training
· Bed liner Gun operating and safety training
· Pop Rivet Gun operating and safety training
· Razor Blades safety
· Buffer operating and safety training
· Heat Lamps operating and safety training
· Pass required Fit test for Full/half and N-95 mask
· Forklift safety as required
· Ability to spray any color
· Perform preventative maintenance
EXPERTISE REQUIRED:
· High School Diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
· Prior experience in Auto Body Painting or equivalent schooling.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to communicate. The team member frequently is required to stand (most of the shift); walk and reach with hands, arms, and lift up to 60 pounds. The team member may, at times, sit, bend, stoop, squat, reach overhead and crawl (may be in confined spaces) and climb ladders and/or work in high places
