A day in this role
You clock in, scan the CMMS for overnight notes, and make a quick walk-through of the line—extruders humming, grinders and shredders ready, conveyors tracking true, motors and gearboxes in spec. Your first task is a scheduled PM, but a call comes in: a conveyor needs immediate attention. You diagnose, correct, and document—safely and efficiently. Later, you help install an equipment upgrade, lend a hand to production with setup and cleaning, and finish by handing off clear notes for the next shift.
What you’ll take ownership of- Maintaining and repairing industrial production assets: extruders, grinders, shredders, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and related mechanical systems
- Executing preventive maintenance and accurately closing work orders in the CMMS
- Troubleshooting mechanical problems quickly and safely
- Supporting equipment installs, improvements, and basic fabrication
- Partnering with production on equipment operation, cleaning, and changeovers
- Keeping the workspace orderly and following all safety procedures
- Documenting completed work and communicating clearly across shifts
- Self-driven problem solvers who own results and adapt to fast, last-minute changes
- Hands-on mechanics with strong troubleshooting instincts
- Lifelong learners focused on improvement and doing the job the right way, per OEM standards
- Team players with grit, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently when needed
- Mechanical experience in industrial/manufacturing (entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply)
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Familiarity with bearings, belts, chains, and drive systems
- Exposure to extrusion equipment is a plus
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Electrical exposure (VFDs, motors, PLC troubleshooting) is a plus; mechanical ability is the priority
- Lift up to 65 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks
- Comfortable around moving machinery, noise, and temperature changes
- Able to climb, work at heights, and in tight or confined spaces
- Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation
- Driver's License
