At STERIS, we advance global health by delivering innovative products and services for healthcare and life sciences. As a Medical Device Injection Molding Technician, you’ll keep our plastics operations running smoothly so caregivers and patients receive reliable, high‑quality components.

Schedule

2:00pm–10:00pm, Monday–Friday (with occasional Saturday and after-hours support as needed)

What your shift looks like
  • Arrive prepared to start up assigned plastic injection molding tools and related auxiliary equipment. Verify machine parameters, process settings, and peripherals before launch and again at required intervals.
  • Run safe, compliant operations: perform start-ups, restarts, shut-downs, routine cleaning, and basic maintenance while monitoring cycle performance and troubleshooting variances.
  • Open each job by confirming paperwork, then complete required start-up inspections; continue with in-process quality checks throughout the run.
  • Follow our medical manufacturing quality system in accordance with ISO 13485 and FDA guidelines; maintain a safe workspace aligned with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Keep machines productive and within compliance standards. Immediately notify the right contacts if abnormalities or equipment issues surface.
  • Package finished parts per SOP: scale counting, printing labels, and preparing cartons for shipment.
  • Operate the grinding machine and use measurement gauges to verify part dimensions.
  • Support Lean initiatives, including 5S practices that keep the area organized and efficient.
  • Document production and quality data electronically and communicate clearly with teammates, including effective shift-to-shift handoffs.
  • Pitch in on other tasks as assigned to meet facility goals.
What you bring
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Fundamental knowledge of injection molding machines and peripheral equipment.
  • Comfort following written and verbal instructions in English; able to read work instructions and safety rules.
  • Strong quality mindset with the ability to make sound decisions when part or equipment variation occurs.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and electronic communication.
  • Experience with cycle counting and using scales for weight calculations.
  • Reliable attendance; available to assist on Saturdays and beyond normal hours when required.
  • Collaborative approach with co-workers, internal customers, and support personnel across shifts.
