Are you experienced in MIG, TIG, Aluminum, or Flux-Core welding? We are looking for skilled individuals who take pride in their work and want to build a lasting career. As a welder at Ledwell you are responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing, components, and related equipment using MIG, TIG, Flux-Core, and aluminum welding processes. This position requires the ability to interpret blueprints, maintain high-quality weld standards, and safely operate welding and fabrication equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), Flux-Core (FCAW), and aluminum welding on steel and aluminum components.
- Fabricate and assemble custom truck bodies and related products according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Read and interpret welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and measuring devices.
- Fit, tack, weld, and finish components to meet production and quality standards.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and appearance.
- Operate fabrication equipment including grinders, saws, torches, drills, and other hand and power tools.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area in accordance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and care of welding equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting fabrication issues and recommend process improvements.
- Work effectively with supervisors, engineers, and production team members to achieve production goals.
- Follow all quality control and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional welding experience or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in:
- MIG Welding (GMAW) Preferred
- TIG Welding (GTAW) Preferred
- Aluminum Welding
- Flux-Core Welding (FCAW)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, levels, and calipers.
- Knowledge of welding safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in truck body, trailer, heavy equipment, or custom manufacturing environments.
- Formal welding training or certification from an accredited technical school.
- AWS welding certifications preferred.
- Experience welding both carbon steel and aluminum materials.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and welding fumes.
- Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and move materials and equipment.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear.
