The Packaging Technician reports to the Manager of Production. The ultimate objective of thePackaging Technician is to package products both by hand and utilizing automated operatingequipment line efficiently and compliantly, while maintaining a safe production and sanitary workenvironment. The Packaging Technician assists the Director of Production with daily tasks, asneeded, to maintain a productive work environment. The Packaging Technician is a full-timeposition and may be required to work overtime.Essential Duties and Tasks:%CF; Package flower products accurately and effectively.%CF; Adhere to direction with ensuring that production goals are met on a daily basis.%CF; Using automated operating equipment to complete tasks.%CF; Overseeing the quality of products produced daily.%CF; Full understanding of the quality standards at HHG%CF; Report quality issues to management.%CF; Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment.%CF; When required, accurately produce quality acceptable labels for packages.%CF; Maintain a reliable attendance record.%CF; Communicate effectively between the Packaging, Kitchen, and other HHGdepartments.%CF; Assisting with gathering of daily production materials and inventory.%CF; Boxing/case packaging of packaged units.%CF; Assisting with break coverages.%CF; Understanding of all automated operating equipment required.%CF; Strict adherence to safety procedures and company policies.%CF; Have read and understand all S.O.P's pertaining to job duties.Requirements and Qualifications:%CF; 1+ year of relevant work experience.%CF; Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).%CF; Possess a can-do attitude, resourceful, action oriented, reliable, and a team player.%CF; Excellent communications skills as applied to internal teams%CF; Motivated with flexibility and adaptability.%CF; Possess a sense of urgency, problem-solving, and organizational skills with great attention todetail.%CF; Over 21 with ability to obtain an MA agent registration card;%CF; Ability to meet minimum physical requirements to work in a production and retail environment. Maintains a clean and organizedwork space. Assists in keepingthe work areas and packagingroom(s) clean and free of clutter.All equipment and packagingarea(s) and work areas are left ina clean and organized fashion.3) Maintaining compliance with the CCC aswell as all HHG regulations.Compliance infractions arealways monitored and mitigated,and management is notified.4) Maintain accuracy/efficiency in theproduct creation and producing labels onall items being made ready for sale and/orpackaged.All products are labeled correctly(test results, package dates,expiration dates).5) Understand the importance ofattendance / reliability.Observes prescribed workbreak/meal periods and has anacceptable overall attendancerecord. Showcases accurate useof time clocks as well asrectifying mistakes through theproper communication channels.6) Cooperation / Commitment on a dailybasis.Willingness to cooperate, workand communicate withcoworkers, supervisors,subordinates and/or outsidecontacts. The employee acceptsand responds to change in apositive manner, as well asaccepts job assignments andadditional duties willingly andtakes responsibility for ownperformance and jobassignments.7) Communication is key in the workplaceto report or avoid any problems. As well ascommunicating before starting any tasksand/or responsibilities.Demonstrates the ability to be aneffective communicator. Sharesimportant issues in a timelyfashion and communicatesthrough the proper channels.Errors in process and procedureare called to the attention of theimmediate manager8) All packagers must follow properemployee conduct and characterguidelines.Follows company policies,procedures and work conductrules set by the ProductionDirector & employee handbook.9) All packagers must package a minimumof 350 units per shift.Failure to meet daily goals 3x in amonth will result in a warningand/or disciplinary action.
