Job Description
Job Title: Quality Control Technician Location: Wayne, PA Work Model: Onsite Schedule: Training for this role will be 1st shift 6:30a - 3p M-F. Once trained the individual would move to 12 hour night shift. 7p - 7a on a 2-2-3 schedule. Meaning you work Monday Tuesday, off Wednesday, Thursday, Work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and then the following week you will be off Monday, Tuesday, work Wednesday, Thursday, and then off Friday Saturday and Sunday. Estimated 84 hrs biweekly. Compensation: $23.00/hr Type: 5-month contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent Responsibilities
- Carry out the analysis of raw materials, washcoats, impregnation solutions, and finished catalysts in accordance with the best laboratory practices.
- Perform sample preparation (raw materials, in-process, and finished catalysts) for chemical and physical measurements using suitable instrumental techniques such as LECO Solids, ICP-OES, Particle size distribution, PGM dispersion, Coefficient of Thermal Expansion, Thermo-Gravimetric Analysis, Porosity, Surface Area, and X-Ray Fluorescence.
- Ensure all laboratory and measurement practices comply with ISO/IEC 17025 standards and the ISO/TS 16949 quality standard.
- Accurately enter laboratory sample data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Inventory Tracking System (ITS), exporting essential testing information as needed.
- Write clear, precise procedures within the QC Laboratories and adhere strictly to Health and Safety/environmental procedures, including PPE requirements.
- Raise incident reports for accidents or near miss events and maintain good housekeeping practices aiming for zero accidents.
- Participate fully in LEAN initiatives, including 5S, SPs, CIS, and Kaizen activities, to promote a LEAN environment.
- Prepare ICP calibration standards with independent verification before they are used routinely.
- Distinguish between good and bad data, demonstrating proficiency in calibrating and maintaining laboratory instruments.
- Perform any other duties within your skills and abilities as instructed, supporting improvement of the EHS system and fostering collaboration across the plant.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best practices to enhance performance and operations.
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Preference for candidates with lab technician experience
- Understanding of wet chemical techniques for inorganic analysis
- Knowledge of analytical instrumental techniques used within QC Labs
- Awareness of ISO/IEC 17025 and IATF 16949 quality standards
