Weekend LPN - Camp Cheerful

Summary
Set amongst 52 acres of woods, trails, fields and aquatic areas of the Cleveland Metroparks, the Achievement Centers for Children’s Camp Cheerful offers campers with disabilities all the traditional camp activities. Camp Cheerful grounds are open year-round and house the Adult Day Program and Therapeutic Riding in addition to Respite Camp.
The Camp Nurse is responsible for the health, safety, and wellness of campers and staff. This role oversees medication administration, injury prevention, health monitoring, and staff education to ensure a safe and supportive camp environment. Nurses have their cabin with a privately locked bedroom and bathroom; they sleep at night and have down periods at times during the day
Position Responsibilities
- Administer medications and provide first aid and emergency care
- Monitor camper health and identify potential concerns or deviations
- Maintain accurate health records and treatment documentation
- Conduct health checks, safety assessments, and preventative care
- Educate and support staff on first aid, safety, and health procedures
- Coordinate with food service regarding special dietary needs
- Maintain Health Center supplies and equipment
- Enforce camp health, safety, and infection control protocols
Hours:
- Two weekends/month are needed
- Friday (6pm start) - Sunday (12pm end)
- On selected weekends we can accommodate a split shift – you do not have to be available for every weekend
- The employee can select which weekends they would like to work.
- LPN license in the State of Ohio
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills

- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities
