Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide personal care and assistance to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate must be reliable, patient-focused, and skilled in safely using mobility equipment such as a Hoyer lift. This position requires professionalism, dedication, and the ability to support clients with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene assistance.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including the safe use of a Hoyer lift and other durable medical equipment.
- Monitor and record vital signs, changes in condition, and report concerns promptly to the supervising nurse.
- Assist with feeding, including meal preparation, G-tube feeding (if trained/assigned), and ensuring proper nutrition.
- Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as walking, positioning, and range of motion exercises.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including light housekeeping related to client care.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients and their families.
- Document care provided accurately and in compliance with agency policy and state/federal regulations.
- Follow all HIPAA, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in North Carolina.
- Previous experience in home care, long-term care, or hospital setting preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a Hoyer lift and other mobility devices.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to delivering consistent, high-quality care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow care plans and work under the supervision of an RN.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for the assignment).
Physical & Working Conditions
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and transferring clients (with assistive devices when needed).
- Work performed in client homes, which may vary in environment and conditions.
- Shifts may include evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays depending on client needs.
