Location: Charlotte, NC; Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY
Salary: $225,000–$435,000

Direct Counsel is seeking a Structured Finance Associate Attorney to join a leading global law firm's Structured Finance practice in Charlotte, Los Angeles, or New York. This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level associate with at least 4 years of experience handling sophisticated structured finance transactions.

The successful candidate will have strong deal experience at a law firm with a focus on structured finance, lending, securitization, or similar financing structures. Experience across a variety of asset types and transaction structures is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in sophisticated structured finance transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents for structured finance and securitization matters.
  • Advise clients on lending, securitization, and other complex financing structures.
  • Support transactions involving a variety of asset classes and financing structures.
  • Analyze transaction structures and identify legal and commercial considerations.
  • Coordinate with clients, counterparties, lenders, investors, and other transaction participants.
  • Manage transaction workstreams and help drive matters from inception through closing.
  • Conduct legal research and due diligence as needed.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and other professionals on complex finance transactions.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • At least 4 years of structured finance experience.
  • Significant law firm experience handling structured finance transactions.
  • Experience with structured finance, lending, securitization, or similar financing structures.
  • Strong transactional drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Experience across multiple asset types and transaction structures is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary of $225,000–$435,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
