Physical Therapist (PRN) – Assisted Living Facility

Position Title: Physical Therapist (PRN)
Location: Assisted Living Facility
Schedule: PRN / As Needed (Typically 1–2 days per week)
Employment Type: Per Diem / PRN

About the Role:

As a Physical Therapist, you will play a critical role in helping patients recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and improve their overall physical function and mobility. You will assess patients' physical abilities, develop personalized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to promote healing and prevent further injury. Your work will involve collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and adapting treatments based on patient progress and feedback. You will also educate patients and their families on exercises, injury prevention, and lifestyle modifications to support long-term health. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to enhancing patients' quality of life and enabling them to regain independence in their daily activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid state license to practice physical therapy in the United States.
  • Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, orthopedic rehabilitation, and manual therapy techniques.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations including those with sports injuries and geriatric rehabilitation needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board Certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) or Sports Physical Therapy (SCS).
  • Experience with advanced rehabilitation technologies and modalities.
  • Additional training or certification in geriatric rehabilitation or sports medicine.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Bilingual abilities to serve a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations to assess physical conditions, limitations, and rehabilitation needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on orthopedic rehabilitation, manual therapy, and sports injury recovery.
  • Utilize evidence-based techniques to improve patient mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly to optimize outcomes.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, injury prevention, and health maintenance.
  • Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Skills:

The required skills such as physical therapy, orthopedic rehabilitation, and manual therapy are applied daily to evaluate patient conditions and deliver targeted treatment plans that promote recovery and functional improvement. Expertise in sports medicine and sports injuries enables the therapist to address acute and chronic athletic conditions effectively, facilitating safe return to activity. Geriatric rehabilitation skills are essential for tailoring interventions that accommodate age-related physical changes and comorbidities, ensuring patient safety and maximizing independence. Orthopedics knowledge supports the management of musculoskeletal disorders through evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
