Special Education Teacher in Battle Creek, MI

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching License required (please provide screenshot proof of active credential status)
• Experience or strong interest in working within ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) high school classrooms
• Solid understanding of IEP development, classroom management, and differentiated instruction
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to adapt strategies to meet diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and individualized instruction to high school students with Autism
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Document student progress and adjust teaching methods to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment where students feel respected, supported, and empowered
• Communicate regularly with families and staff to build partnerships that support student achievement
• Support classroom routines, transitions, and activities that promote independence and functional skills

This is a full-time contract position (37.5 hours per week) with six openings, offering the unique chance to directly impact students and be part of an innovative special education program.
