Special Education Teacher in Kernersville, NC

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid licensure or certification to teach Special Education
• Proven experience teaching in a special education setting, preferably at the elementary or middle school level
• Strong understanding of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and instructional adaptations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork with staff, students, and families
• Ability to implement differentiated instructional strategies for individual student needs
• Passion for helping students reach their educational and social-emotional goals

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with IEPs for a class of approximately 25 students
• Assess student progress and adapt instructional approaches as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with related service providers, families, and school administration
• Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment fostering student engagement and growth
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all special education regulations and district policies
• Employ positive behavior support and classroom management techniques
