Desired Qualifications:
- Valid licensure or certification to teach Special Education
- Proven experience teaching in a special education setting, preferably at the elementary or middle school level
- Strong understanding of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and instructional adaptations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork with staff, students, and families
- Ability to implement differentiated instructional strategies for individual student needs
- Passion for helping students reach their educational and social-emotional goals
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with IEPs for a class of approximately 25 students
- Assess student progress and adapt instructional approaches as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with related service providers, families, and school administration
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment fostering student engagement and growth
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all special education regulations and district policies
- Employ positive behavior support and classroom management techniques
