Key Qualifications:

• Valid Mississippi Special Education K-12 teacher licensure required
• Prior experience teaching students with diverse learning needs, preferably in a self-contained classroom
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, teaching assistants, and school staff
• Ability to develop and deliver tailored lesson plans to meet individual education plans (IEPs)
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and support to a small caseload of five students, developing engaging lesson plans that accommodate unique abilities and learning styles
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants to maximize individualized support
• Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate records of student progress in accordance with IEPs
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and school initiatives as needed
• Follow all district and state standards, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment
