Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity delivering specialized instruction to students in grades 9-12. Provide meaningful support and guidance within a dedicated high school setting, working with students who receive special education services for the majority of their school day. With a manageable class size of 12-25 students, you will offer direct instruction, develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborate closely with families, general education teachers, and other related service providers.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Valid Arizona Special Education Certification (AZ SPED Cert)
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Arizona Psychologist License (as applicable for the role)
- Experience supporting high school students in a special education setting
- Skilled at developing IEPs and serving students requiring significant instructional support
- Strong communication abilities to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction in a special education classroom for grades 9-12
- Create, manage, and implement effective IEPs tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to promote student growth and success
- Develop differentiated lesson plans that address diverse learning needs
- Maintain detailed records in compliance with district and state requirements
- Participate in panel-style interviews over Zoom, with decisions typically made within 24-48 hours
