Job Description
Inspire young minds as a Grades 5-8 English Language Arts teacher and make a difference each day in a supportive school environment. This full-time, contract position runs from August 31 through June 11, offering the opportunity to guide and encourage students during a pivotal stage in their academic journey.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current teaching licensure, ideally Tier 3 or Tier 4
- Previous experience teaching English Language Arts in grades 5-8 is highly preferred
- Strong classroom management and organization skills
- Familiarity with best practices in literacy instruction and differentiated learning
- Ability to foster meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction to 5th - 8th grade students in accordance with school curriculum
- Create lesson plans that promote reading comprehension, writing proficiency, and critical thinking
- Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and standardized assessments
- Offer constructive feedback and maintain open communication with students and families
- Adapt teaching methods to support various learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with fellow educators and participate in professional development activities
