Job Description
Make a significant impact supporting students with special needs as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. New contract opportunities are available for passionate educators at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in the beautiful Bluffton, SC area. Positions begin August 3, 2026, and run through May 28, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 onsite hours. You’ll play a crucial role in helping students thrive and achieve their fullest potential.
Desired Qualifications:
- South Carolina Special Education Teacher certification (or be eligible for certification)
- Previous experience in special education or a similar classroom setting
- Strong communication and collaborative skills with fellow educators and families
- Commitment to supporting students’ diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Adaptability and creativity in lesson planning and individualized support
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and adapt instruction to maximize growth
- Work with school teams, including support staff and resource teachers, to foster an inclusive environment
- Communicate regularly with families, ensuring students’ needs are met collaboratively
- Create a supportive and positive classroom conducive to learning and development
