Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in a supportive educational environment as a Special Education Teacher working with a dedicated team near Chula Vista, CA. This full-time contract position focuses on providing instruction and guidance to TK-2 students in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting, with a classroom capped at 14 students and supported by 2 paraprofessionals. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through June 3, 2027. You’ll play a crucial role in developing educational plans, fostering an inclusive atmosphere, and helping young learners reach their potential.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current, active California mild/moderate Special Education teaching credential (required)
- Special Education teaching experience, preferably with TK-2 age group
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, staff, and families
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students in a TK-2 SDC classroom
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet a wide range of abilities
- Manage and motivate a class of up to 14 students with assistance from 2 paraprofessionals
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture conducive to learning and development
- Maintain detailed progress records and communicate regularly with family members and specialists
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to ensure the best outcomes for all students
