Job Description
Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting students at an elementary level for a full-time contracted Special Education teaching assignment. This role offers the chance to cover a maternity leave position, positively impacting young learners in a collaborative setting. Beginning as soon as possible and extending through December 23rd, you'll work with a supportive staff to help students thrive academically and socially.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff and families
- Adaptability and patience in a dynamic learning environment
- Ability to tailor instruction to meet diverse behavioral and academic needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized lessons for students with a range of learning differences
- Implement and monitor IEP goals in partnership with related service providers
- Collect and report progress data, modifying interventions as needed
- Provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Maintain regular communication with parents and classroom teachers
- Participate in meetings, planning sessions, and professional development as required
