Special Education Teacher - La Mesa, CA

Key Qualifications:

• Current, active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential required
• Solid background in special education settings, especially with early elementary-aged students
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with paras, families, and related service providers
• Expert in adapting curriculum and differentiated instruction
• Ability to create a positive classroom culture and manage behaviors constructively
• Commitment through June 2027

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction for students in grades TK-2 with diverse learning needs
• Assess student progress, design IEP goals, and maintain accurate records
• Coordinate IEP meetings and collaborate with families, staff, and support specialists
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and foster student independence
• Create and maintain an inclusive, safe, and structured classroom environment
• Supervise and provide guidance to paraprofessionals
