Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience teaching high school students, especially in both general education and self-contained settings
• Strong understanding of IEP processes, documentation, and implementation
• Ability to individualize instruction to meet diverse learner needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and related service providers
• Flexible, organized, and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and monitor appropriate instructional programs aligned with students' IEPs
• Provide direct teaching in both general education and self-contained classrooms
• Develop and adapt lesson plans and materials to accommodate varying ability levels
• Maintain accurate records, including IEP documentation, progress monitoring, and attendance
• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure students receive necessary accommodations and modifications
• Facilitate effective communication with families and multidisciplinary teams regarding student progress and needs
• Support positive classroom management and promote an environment of respect and encouragement
