Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract role as an Occupational Therapist working in an educational setting near Canton, MI. This position is scheduled from September to December, with the potential for extension if a permanent hire has not been secured by year-end. You'll play a key part in fostering student growth, independence, and participation in school-based activities by providing hands-on therapeutic support.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience or strong interest in school-based OT settings
- Familiarity with educational IEPs and student progress documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative team work
- Ability to adapt therapeutic strategies to the needs and abilities of each student
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ needs for occupational therapy within an educational framework
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students’ goals and IEPs
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure supportive learning environments
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and district requirements
- Support student participation in classroom and school-wide activities, providing adaptive tools and strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and offer professional insights for team planning
