Job Description
An exceptional contract opportunity awaits a physical therapist interested in working within a school environment on a part-time basis. This role supports three students—a kindergartener, a 5th grader, and a 6th grader—from August 17 through May 20. The expected schedule is roughly three hours per week, including both direct and indirect therapy services.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Physical Therapist licensure required
- Current NMPED license mandatory
- Previous experience working with pediatric or school-age populations preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff
- Strong communication, time management, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized physical therapy services in line with each student’s IEP or 504 plan
- Assess, develop, and adjust therapy goals based on ongoing student progress
- Provide thorough reports on therapy sessions and progress
- Consult regularly with teachers, staff, and parents to promote student success in the classroom
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines
- Attend scheduled team meetings as needed and participate in IEP planning
