Job Description
Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Special Education Elementary Teacher serving students in all inclusion classrooms. This role is vital to elementary day school programs for learners who benefit from individualized education, requiring passionate educators with strong math expertise.
You’ll maintain a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, from 7:00 am to 2:15 pm, working full time with elementary-aged students. Multiple positions are available: covering parental leave, as well as month-to-month assignments with the potential for extension through the academic year if the match is right.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid special education teaching certification
- Solid experience supporting math curriculum and instruction
- Proven ability to co-teach and collaborate with general education faculty
- Experience managing and implementing IEPs for diverse learners
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Co-teaching either math or English language arts within inclusion classes
- Managing a caseload of students, developing and tracking IEP goals
- Collaborating closely with general education teachers for instructional planning
- Providing individualized support and accommodations to ensure student progress
- Maintaining thorough documentation and meeting compliance standards
- Participating actively in team meetings and professional development
