A dynamic opportunity awaits for an experienced Special Education Teacher looking to make a difference in a supportive educational environment. This full-time, contract role runs through June 2027 and is ideal for someone with a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering growth in young learners.

You’ll work weekdays, managing a SDC classroom of Transitional Kindergarten to 2nd grade students—maximum of 14—with the support of two paraprofessionals. This position offers the chance to develop personalized, impactful learning plans, collaborate with dedicated colleagues, and empower students with mild to moderate disabilities. Compensation ranges from $40 to $55 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • Current and active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential required
  • Previous experience in Special Education, particularly TK-2 or similar
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with paraprofessionals and other educators
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and interventions for students with varied learning needs
  • Develop and implement IEPs, monitoring individualized goals and progress
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Provide guidance and direction for two classroom paraprofessionals
  • Establish consistent communication with families and educational support staff
