Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of high school students by providing support and guidance as a Special Education Teacher in an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classroom. This contract opportunity offers onsite work with a dedicated team for the 2026-2027 school year.
This role focuses on delivering high-quality instruction and support to students with ASD to ensure educational growth, skill development, and positive learning experiences.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching License (active and in good standing; verification required)
- Experience or strong interest in working with high school-aged students, particularly those in ASD classroom settings
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to create lesson plans, adapt curriculum, and provide individualized instruction based on IEP goals
- Commitment to building trusting, professional relationships with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and manage classroom activities for high school students diagnosed with ASD
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) with measurable goals
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student success
- Collect data, track student progress, and document all interventions
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and training as required by the school
This is a full-time, onsite contract role for the 2026-2027 academic year, scheduled for 37.5 hours per week and part of a collaborative high school team.
