Special Education Teacher in Longmont, CO

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students at the middle school level as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. This position is onsite and runs from August 4, 2026, to May 21, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week (35 hours paid, with 2.5 hours allotted for unpaid lunches).

You will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to a classroom of 10 students, collaborating closely with peer mentors, two full-time paraeducators, and a supportive multidisciplinary team including a BCBA, Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational/Physical Therapists, and Psychologist/Social Worker. The environment is designed for both student engagement and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of classroom experience required
• Must possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid CDE license (cannot sign TEE)
• Flexible, collaborative attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
• Must submit a copy of active CDE license or COOL alongside application materials; interviews are not scheduled without this documentation

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs
• Develop and implement IEPs in cooperation with a transdisciplinary team
• Engage with families, related service providers, and school staff to foster a positive and effective learning environment
• Maintain accurate records and participate actively in team meetings and professional development
