Job Description
Step into a vital contract role providing speech-language services to K-8 students with moderate to profound communication needs. This full-time position, conveniently located at a single site near Bridgeport, CT, runs from August 24, 2026, through June 11, 2027. You will support a caseload of approximately 40 students, delivering impactful interventions and collaborating with a diverse educational team.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active SLP license in the state issued by the appropriate board
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Experience working with K-8 populations, especially with moderate to profound communication deficits
- Proficiency and experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
What you’ll do:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment for students with a range of communication challenges
- Develop individualized treatment plans and maintain thorough documentation
- Consult with teachers and family members, promoting effective communication strategies for each student
- Implement, monitor, and adjust the use of AAC devices for eligible students
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local policies and procedures
