We are looking for an Assistant Court Clerk to support daily court administration. This contract position is suited for someone who can manage records accurately, handle clerical workflows efficiently, and assist with public-facing inquiries in a courteous manner. The role contributes to the smooth coordination of court documentation, citation processing, and routine office support within a government environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage citation intake and maintain case files while ensuring records are categorized and retained correctly.
• Organize, file, scan, store, and remove documents in accordance with court office procedures, including materials related to tickets and trial de novo matters.
• Prepare court dockets and assemble supporting documentation needed for scheduled proceedings.
• Input citations, warrants, and other case information into the appropriate computer systems with a high level of accuracy.
• Maintain current daily court records and update files to reflect new activity or case status changes.
• Generate and distribute failure-to-pay notices as part of ongoing case administration.
• Receive payments when required and record transactions in line with office procedures.
• Respond to general court phone inquiries and provide routine information to callers in a courteous and helpful manner.• Prior experience in clerical, administrative, or office support work, preferably in a court, legal, or government setting.
• Strong data entry skills with the ability to maintain accurate electronic and paper records.
• Proficiency in scanning, document handling, and file organization within a fast-paced office environment.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain well-structured case documentation.
• Comfortable using computer systems to enter case details, track records, and support daily back-office operations.
• Effective communication skills for handling phone inquiries and assisting with routine public interactions.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple tasks with consistent accuracy.
