Physical Therapist - School Setting in Tarrytown, NY
Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Physical Therapist working full time with elementary learners in a supportive school environment near Tarrytown, NY! This contract role offers the opportunity to support kindergarten through 5th-grade students through both individual and small group physical therapy sessions, facilitating growth in motor skills, mobility, and overall well-being.
What we are looking for:
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in the state
- Previous experience working with pediatric or school-based populations preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement therapeutic interventions for diverse student needs
- Comfortable working with students individually and in small group settings
- Experience with IEP documentation and progress monitoring is a plus
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments to identify each student’s physical therapy needs within the school environment
- Designing and implementing customized treatment plans
- Delivering services to students in 1:1 and group settings to support gross and fine motor development
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and other specialists to promote student success
- Maintaining accurate session notes and documenting student progress toward goals
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary team discussions
