School-Based Physical Therapist - Newark, NJ

Seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for a rewarding contract opportunity serving K-12 students across multiple schools. This full-time position spans the academic year, from September 4, 2026, through June 25, 2027, offering a consistent weekday schedule (8:30 a.m.–3:15 p.m., 35 hours per week). As a district-wide provider, you’ll collaborate with various educational teams to help students succeed and reach their fullest potential.

Requirements:

• Valid Physical Therapy license in New Jersey
• Experience with pediatric or school-based physical therapy preferred
• Ability to travel to multiple school sites within the district
• Must complete or obtain the following before starting:
  • New Jersey TB test
  • Physical examination
  • Fingerprinting for both agency and the school district
• Willingness to participate in a Zoom-based interview process

What You’ll Do:

• Assess and deliver therapy services to K-12 students according to their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop strategies that support student mobility and participation in school activities
• Document session notes, progress reports, and maintain accurate student records
• Provide input in team meetings and contribute expertise to multi-disciplinary teams
• Travel between multiple school sites within the district as part of your weekly caseload
• Adhere to school and state regulations regarding student care and reporting
