Make a difference every day by helping students reach their full potential in a supportive and collaborative school environment. This contract opportunity is designed for a dedicated Special Education Teacher who can provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse needs.
You’ll have the chance to work in both elementary and high school settings, offering a unique mix of experiences. In one assignment, you’ll lead a K-2 multi-categorical classroom with a small group of 6-7 students, supported by two skilled paraprofessionals. Another portion of your role involves working with high school students in resource and academic seminar classes, utilizing a push-in model to help integrate support in the general education environment.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching license/certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience in K-12 special education settings, preferably with multi-categorical and resource classrooms
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP development
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver specialized instruction according to students’ individual IEPs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, general educators, and related service providers
- Maintain accurate records and regularly update progress on student goals
- Foster a supportive classroom climate that encourages growth and independence
- Engage in regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress
Position Details:
- K-2 multi-cat classroom: 7:15am–2:45pm
- High School Resource: 8:30am–4:00pm
- Contract duration: Upon compliance onboarding through June 1, 2027
