Special Education Teacher | York, Pennsylvania

The assignment runs from August 2026 through June 2027, with consistent weekday hours from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Special Education (or eligibility)
• Prior experience working with students on the autism spectrum or in a similar support environment
• Thorough understanding of individual education plans (IEPs) and ability to track student progress
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances and attend pre-assigned trainings
• Ability to work collaboratively with fellow educators, support staff, and families

Primary responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction in accordance with individualized education programs for students in Autistic Support Rooms (classroom placement may be subject to change based on student needs)
• Adapt lessons and classroom management strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Assess student progress, document outcomes, and update IEPs as needed
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other team members to maximize student achievement
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
