Special Education Teacher | Parma, Michigan

This assignment kicks off in late August and continues through early June, offering a steady schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Six positions are available, giving you the chance to work within a team of like-minded professionals committed to student success.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Michigan Special Education teaching certification (required; candidates must provide verification from the Michigan Educator Certification System)
• Experience working with high school students, especially those in ASD or similar classrooms, preferred
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and fellow educators
• Strong classroom management abilities and a compassionate, student-centered approach

Responsibilities:

• Create and implement individualized education plans for students in ASD classrooms
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners
• Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and compliance with state/federal guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate closely with support staff and families
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students
