Job Description
Make a difference in students’ lives by supporting high school learners in ASD-specific classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year! This contract role offers the opportunity to contribute to an inclusive educational environment, working closely with students who benefit from specialized instruction and care.
As part of a dedicated team, you'll provide tailored support to high schoolers in autism spectrum disorder classrooms. The position is onsite, ensuring you’re part of a collaborative and interactive setting. The assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, offering stable, full-time hours—37.5 hours per week—across multiple available positions.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current and active Michigan Special Education Teacher license is required (please verify your credential and be prepared to provide a screenshot).
- Demonstrated experience or a strong interest in working with high school-aged students on the autism spectrum.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom culture.
- Commitment to individualized instruction and advocacy for students’ specific needs.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, adapted instruction in line with IEPs and curriculum goals for ASD classrooms.
- Collaborate with general education staff, specialists, and families to promote student success.
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and contribute to regular IEP meetings.
- Support classroom routines and positive behavior interventions.
- Adapt instructional materials to meet students’ diverse learning styles and abilities.
