Special Education Teacher - Fairfield, CA

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching credential (specifically for SDC or appropriate mild/moderate or moderate/severe credential)
• Experience working with middle school-aged children in a special education setting
• Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
• Expertise in developing, implementing, and tracking Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and school staff

Main Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students in a self-contained Special Day Class environment
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
• Monitor student progress, manage IEP documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, and administration
• Foster a safe, supportive classroom culture that encourages academic and social growth
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
