Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity to support student success as a School Psychologist working with pre-K through 8th grade students. This specialized role focuses on conducting evaluations and guiding key processes at the district level, without routine involvement in daily student or staff concerns typically handled by building-based psychologists. This position offers an immediate start with a commitment through June 19th, 2027.
Ideal candidates will bring experience in domain meetings, evaluations, and early intervention transitions while maintaining a collaborative spirit during MTSS referral meetings. As you will be based at the district office, you will oversee a caseload averaging about 63 evaluations per year, including overseeing transition processes (with 17 EI transitions completed last year).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active or pending Illinois PEL and School Psychologist license (pending accepted for travel professionals)
- Experience working with pre-K through 8th grade student populations
- Strong background in conducting and completing comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations
- Skilled in leading domain meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with EI transition processes and TPBA assessments
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- CPI training is not required for this position
Responsibilities:
- Run and facilitate effective domain meetings for students referred for evaluation
- Complete evaluations for assigned caseload exclusively
- Oversee Early Intervention (EI) transition processes, including TPBA assessments
- Participate in MTSS referral meetings for individual students as required
- Maintain clear and timely documentation and communicate findings to stakeholders
