Job Description
Make a difference supporting students’ growth in a flexible, part-time role as an Occupational Therapy professional. This contract opportunity is based near Sylvania, OH, and offers 16 hours per week assisting school-aged children to achieve success and independence in their educational environment. Candidates enthusiastic about school-based OT are encouraged to apply. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) will be considered if supervision arrangements are in place.
Additionally, there is a matching 16-hour-per-week position available nearby in Toledo, creating the possibility to expand your hours and impact by combining both placements.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Ohio
- Experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
- Knowledge of IEP processes and documentation requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to develop and implement therapy plans tailored to students’ individual needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine students’ functional abilities
- Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and support staff to support students’ educational goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, sharing insights and recommendations as a valued team member
- Support and supervise COTA staff if applicable
