What we’re looking for:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Previous experience with ASD or in self-contained special education settings preferred
- Understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and staff
- Ability to create engaging, differentiated lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Adaptability and patience in dynamic classroom environments
- Commitment to building a positive, supportive atmosphere for all learners
What you’ll do:
- Provide direct instruction and individualized support to students in an ASD classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with the educational team
- Modify curriculum to address diverse learning styles and needs
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and behavioral supports to maximize student engagement and progress
- Engage in regular communication with parents, caregivers, and related service providers
- Participate actively in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
