Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide leadership as the Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health treatment facility with over 300 licensed beds. This role is essential in supporting the site's recovery and growth following the loss of CMS accreditation, with a focused effort on pharmacy staffing and administration. The position requires presence on-site Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with additional on-call duties after shifts and on weekends. This contract opportunity begins September 1, 2026, continuing until a permanent hire is made.

Location:

  • San Antonio, TX (Nearest Airport: San Antonio International Airport)
  • Onsite hours: Monday-Friday, 9 AM to 1 PM
  • On-call coverage after shifts and weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Interim Director of Pharmacy and PIC, managing staffing and operational responsibilities
  • Oversee pharmacy workflow and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Work closely with a small team consisting of one full-time pharmacist and one per diem pharmacist
  • Participate in onsite training for order entry system (HCS) and Omnicell automation
  • Maintain business casual dress code consistent with site standards

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Pharmacy licensure in the state of Texas is required
  • Experience as a Director of Pharmacy, ideally in hospital or behavioral health settings
  • Familiarity with Omnicell automation systems preferred (training available)
  • Knowledge of order entry systems such as HCS (training provided)
  • Strong leadership and administrative skills, with previous PIC experience preferred
