A rewarding contract opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Resource Room teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. This full-time position is designed to support high school students, focusing on delivering high-quality instruction in English Language Arts within a resource room setting. The school operates on a traditional Monday through Friday schedule from 7 am to 3 pm, allowing for optimal work-life balance and consistent daily routines.

Ideal candidates demonstrate expertise in differentiated instruction and specialized support for students with diverse learning needs. Relationship-building, collaboration with general education staff, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Arizona Special Education (SPED) license
  • ELA certification (required for instruction within resource room setting)
  • IVP fingerprint clearance card (mandatory)
  • Previous experience working in a high school special education environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and goal implementation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and academic support in ELA to students with disabilities in a resource room
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) based on student assessments and team input
  • Regularly monitor, document, and report on student progress toward IEP goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure alignment and support
  • Maintain a positive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and team members regarding progress and needs
