Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract position supporting the success of K-12 students as both a Special Education Teacher and the SPED Director. Located in a welcoming, collaborative environment near Dearborn, MI, this opportunity extends from now through June 18, 2027. Hours will start at 35 per week, increasing to 40 after Labor Day to better serve your students.
Your key qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (K-12)
- Experience managing a caseload of 10-18 students with diverse needs
- Demonstrated leadership ability, ideally with supervisory or program management experience
- Thorough knowledge of SPED laws, compliance, and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Expect to:
- Manage a caseload of 10-18 students, ensuring each receives individualized support and instruction
- Serve as the school's SPED Director, overseeing all special education programming, compliance, and documentation
- Collaborate with general education staff, families, and external partners to create inclusive, supportive learning environments
- Monitor student progress, adapt instruction, and develop IEPs tailored to each learner’s needs
- Train and mentor staff, foster a positive and collaborative school culture
