Job Description
Make a meaningful difference supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic educational setting. This full-time contract opportunity focuses on providing exceptional cross-categorical support for students in grades 9 through 12. You’ll manage a small, focused caseload of 10-12 students, each with unique learning profiles, in a supportive environment near Brodhead, WI.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and valid Special Education Teacher license for Wisconsin (WI SPED Licensure required)
- Background in planning and delivering individualized education plans (IEPs) for high school students
- Experience working with a variety of disabilities in a cross-categorical setting
- Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized, evidence-based instruction and support to meet each student’s learning and behavioral needs
- Manage and track the progress of a caseload of 10-12 high school students across varying disabilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, ancillary staff, and families to ensure student success
- Develop, implement, and assess IEP goals while advocating for accommodations and services
- Adapt curriculum material and teaching methods to support differentiated learning
- Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional learning opportunities
