Job Description
Make a difference for students by bringing your expertise in special education to a vibrant middle school classroom serving grades 7 and 8. This full-time, onsite role focuses on supporting a small group—approximately six students—in an Autistic Support Classroom, where you'll work alongside caring PCAs dedicated to student success.
Ideal candidates will bring a passion for inclusive education and a strong foundation in working with neurodiverse learners. Your role will involve developing and adapting lesson plans, collaborating with support staff, and creating a nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with middle school students, particularly in grades 7 or 8
- Background in supporting students on the autism spectrum or in similar specialized settings
- Confidence managing an inclusive classroom with behavioral and academic supports
- Commitment to individualized instruction and IEP implementation
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver structured, engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs
- Monitor progress, assess learning, and adjust strategies as necessary
- Collaborate closely with PCAs and related service professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation for IEPs, assessments, and parent communications
- Foster an environment that encourages growth, self-advocacy, and positive behaviors
