Step into an engaging opportunity supporting students’ physical development as a part-time Physical Therapist for the upcoming school year. This contract role is based onsite, working closely with dedicated educators and families to create positive, practical change for children and adolescents. You'll deliver direct therapy services within a collaborative, welcoming school environment located near Glorieta, NM.
Key Qualifications:
- Current PT licensure in New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain).
- Prior pediatric or school-based physical therapy experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and adapt therapy approaches to individual student needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Passion for fostering student growth, inclusion, and participation in school-based activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group physical therapy sessions to students with diverse needs, focusing on promoting mobility, motor skills, and access to educational environments.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement IEP goals.
- Conduct assessments, maintain documentation, and track ongoing progress for compliance and reporting.
- Offer support and training for school staff regarding best practices for physical accessibility and student safety.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide insight on adaptive equipment or modifications when necessary.
