We are seeking an experienced and motivated Inventory Manager to oversee inventory accounting, inventory controls, standard costing, reporting, and process improvement initiatives within a multi-site manufacturing and distribution environment. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert for inventory management and will play a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting operational decision-making, and strengthening internal controls.


The successful candidate will partner closely with Accounting, Operations, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Executive Leadership while helping drive system enhancements and process improvements. This position offers strong visibility within the organization and significant long-term growth potential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of inventory accounting, valuation, and control activities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records across multiple manufacturing and distribution locations.
  • Analyze inventory transactions, adjustments, variances, and reconciliations.
  • Support standard costing methodologies and ensure accurate costing of manufactured products.
  • Monitor raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventory.
  • Coordinate and oversee physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with operations and manufacturing leaders to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain inventory-related reporting, dashboards, and metrics.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities related to inventory and cost accounting.
  • Support ERP system administration and inventory-related system enhancements.
  • Participate in warehouse management system (WMS) implementation and optimization projects.
  • Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and company procedures.
  • Serve as a key resource for inventory, manufacturing accounting, and process improvement initiatives.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, inventory management, or manufacturing accounting.
  • Strong understanding of inventory controls, inventory valuation, and reconciliation processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience working within an ERP environment.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • CPA designation or CPA-track candidate.
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Experience with standard costing, bill of materials (BOM), and work-in-process (WIP) accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SYSPRO, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Exposure to business intelligence, reporting tools, and warehouse management systems.
